Sir Sydney Camm Scholarship

To apply for the Coachmakers Sir Sydney Camm Scholarship please send a brief C.V. to Kingston University, along with a Personal Statement of no more than 500 words explaining how achieving an honours degree would enable you to enhance your contribution to the UK Aerospace/Aviation Industry. Your Personal Statement should also explain how your previous education and experience have prepared you for further study at honours degree level.

2018
The 2018 winner is a young lady called Sophia Webb. Sophia did her Foundation Degree with the Flybe Academy in Exeter, during which she also achieved all but two of her EASA Part 66 licence modules. She subsequently started full time employment as an Aircraft Mechanic with Flybe. She will complete the BSc (Hons) top-up part time (spread over 2 years) with Kingston University, while continuing her job at Flybe. Overall she was an outstanding candidate “ticking all the boxes” in the required ability, ambition, determination and potential fields.

2017

2016
An AeroAcademy Foundation Degree student won the Sir Sydney Camm Scholarship to support his aerospace studies final year at Kingston University.
Well done Liam Ruff who has studied Foundation Degree in Aerospace Engineering (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) at AeroAcademy.

2015
The Coachmakers' Aerospace Awards Committee has recently completed interviews for this year's Sir Sydney Camm Scholarship (now in its 4th year). The winner is a Simon Keeler who through sheer hard work and grim determination has achieved a Foundation Degree. We are now part-funding a "top-up" degree course at Kingston which will gain him a BSc (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering.  Simon Keeler, was rewarded a “First” in his top-up degree at Kingston, subsequently started engineering work with Monarch and has now been accepted for CPL training at Kidlington.

2014
The recipient of the Sir Sydney Camm Scholarship 2013 is Timothy Kimber, who had recently spent some time on work placement with Flybe.  Described as "an enterprising young man", SSCCS wish Timothy every success now and into the future. 

2013
The recipient of the Sir Sydney Camm Scholarship 2013 was Alex Marks, from Norfolk completed a Foundation Degree in Aerospace Engineering and utilised the funding to 'Top-Up' to a 'With Honours' Degree at Kingston University.
